Happy birthday, Mini – and more

The iconic Mini turns 50 this year, and celebrates not only the iconic status of the tiny compact car conceived by Sir Alec Issigonis, but also the enduring success of the brand in its latest, much more modern iteration. We joined the festivities at a massive Mini party in Clarence.

In complete contrast, there’s nothing mini about the Audi A7, and especially not the latest flagship of the range. A massive V12 TDI powerplant, ceramic brakes, and some styling tweaks ensure an intimidating package that shouldn’t be argued with at any traffic light grand prix!

Finally, we return to more pragmatic motoring with a road test of the latest-generation Isuzu KB300DT Double Cab. Smart looks and an even smarter chassis make for a versatile and practical all-terrain package.

RPM’s premiere episode this week is broadcast on Wednesday night at 20h45 on SuperSport 6. It repeats on Thursday morning at 07h30 on MNET and SS2. There are no less than 12 other repeats if you miss the first few transmissions. Additional, late-schedule repeats can also be expected.
